The top side of an oil rig encompasses the surface deck of a platform, which includes all equipment for drilling, production, and processing. It also includes the structure itself, which means literally any elements of the oil rig which are on the 'top side' of the water line.

The top side operation can include oil and gas treatment, storage and offloading, process support systems, as well as the living quarters for those who work on the rig.

Top side constructions must also be able to cope with a full range of extreme conditions from extreme cold to high temperature. Technomak provides you the complete design, engineering and fabrication of top side systems.

Embedded anchor piles (driven or drilled) are required for situations where a large holding capacity is required. The design of anchor piles allows for three types of mooring configurations—vertical tethers, catenary moorings, and semi-taut/taut moorings—which are used for the mooring of offshore structures such as offshore wind turbines, floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels, floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facilities, etc.

Pre-Assembled Piperack (PAR) Modules: Fully-assembled piping modules include major piping, steel structures, electrical and instrument cable trays, fireproofing and insulation that minimise piping fabrication at site. These modules are suitable for main process pipe racks as well as off-site and utility pipe racks.

Pre-Assembled Units (PAU) Modules: Fully-assembled and pre-commissioned multi-disciplined Process Modules incorporating tagged equipment, and all structural steel, piping, fireproofing, insulation, electrical and instrumentation that lie within the module boundary. Technomak has extensive experience in the conversion of Jack-up Drilling, including all marine/hull and topsides systems, into oil and gas MOPUs. Technomak undertakes the full scope of naval architecture and structural design services for the conversion of Jack-up drilling rigs to MOPU. The scope includes in-place analysis of the unit including leg strength and fatigue assessments as well as foundation stability assessments. Transportation engineering is done for the tow of the unit to site and design engineering for all new structures on deck.

The Mobile Offshore Production Units (MOPUs) are movable platforms, or structures, that are indigenously designed, fabricated, installed and commissioned by the Offshore team at Technomak.

The MOPUs are used in offshore well production. Being portable, an MOPU is potentially a more feasible and inexpensive oil producing unit for some offshore locations.

It is an efficient unit that performs the same duty as the conventional permanent platforms.

Technomak’s Semi-Submersible rig is a Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit better known as MODU, which is designed for offshore drilling in ultra-deep waters of the oil and gas-rich areas across the globe.

They are partially submerged in water during drilling operations and are normally moored to the seabed by anchors.

Subsea field architecture involves a network of pipelines serving as a conduit for transferring the product on the seabed.

A Turret is a cylindrical single point mooring system geo-stationary with the seabed, allowing rotation of the FPSO and a Cam Buoy is used for Counterweight Articulated Mooring.

We also provide a range of self-contained solar LED marine lanterns for demarcation purposes, featuring an up to-5-nautical-mile visible range.

Technomak has the full capability to dismantle and decommission Oil and Gas facilities, both onshore and offshore.

Prior to conducting such decommissioning activities, Technomak undertakes the complete material and energy flow analysis, with corresponding financial flows, for different decommissioning scenarios.

For e.g., for offshore decommissioning, comparative assessments are made of the non-financial (especially environmental) outcomes of the different scenarios, with the reference scenario being to leave all structures in situ, while other scenarios envisaged are leaving them on the seabed or removing them to shore for recycling and disposal.

The cost of each scenario, when compared with the reference scenario, give an implicit valuation of the non-financial outcomes (e.g., environmental improvements), should that scenario be adopted.

Post a proper analysis, complete decommissioning is undertaken with decommissioned equipment left at situ or disposed off to be recycled.

Our well conductor and repair integrity services include engineering of the conductor clamps and sleeves to repair or reinforce aged conductors. This capability is combined with annular grouting and composite coatings to cover most day-to-day conductor repair issues.

Centralisers provide a service at the critical interface between the well conductor and platform jacket. Technomak provides complete retrofit/replacement of conductor guide centralisers.

When the guide structure around the conductors is in poor condition, Technomak can design, supply, and install replacement guides, or whole guide arrays.

If conductors cannot be repaired or are corroded, and the associated wells are no longer economically viable, Technomak’s proven rigless slot recovery tooling and processes can reclaim the well slot – as with an additional guide and this can mean creating a new producing well within existing platform infrastructure.

Technomak engineering team prepares the complete engineering works for the replacement of a helideck. They perform structural analyses, design and fabrication of lifting frames and develop all the handling procedures for the transport and installation of the existing and new helideck such as the following:

• Aluminum or structural steel supporting frameworks

• Self-extinguishing helidecks

With module size availability for 4, 6, 8 or more personnel, these units are made as per DNV2.7-1 / EN12079A60 standards and classified for safe area or zone IIA60 requirements. These are plug and play, standalone units with real-time tracking GPS device (classified ATEX, IECEx, Zone 0).
